Gerald Lee "Jerry" Smothers, 82, of Ada passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his home. He was born May 2, 1943, in Wichita, KS to Ivan Walter and Lorene Alice Herre Smothers. He was a railroad electrician for Santa Fe, then Amtrak until his retirement.
Survivors include his son, David G. Smothers and wife Sharon; daughter, Gina Tenereillo; grandchildren, Samuel, Sara, Anna, Maria Holmes and husband Austin; great grandson, Brenden; brother, John Smothers and wife Bobbie; and two sisters, Judy Adams and husband Charles and Marie Johnson and husband Terry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, Gerald James and Clarence Smothers; cousin, Randy McBride; maternal grandparents, Jake and Lydia Herre; and niece, Rhonda Strange.
