Douglas- Gerald V. Sullivan, 69, of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Douglas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

He leaves his devoted wife Mary B. (Bombara) Sullivan, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage; and his three loving daughters Katherine M. Loomer and her husband Brady of Southborough, Elizabeth A. Sclama and her husband Gregory of Rome, Italy, and Stephanie L. King and her husband David of Dubois, PA. Jerry was a proud and loving "Papa" to his three grandsons, Carson, Louis, and Theodore. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Kathleen O'Coin and her husband Paul of Millbury, Linda Sullivan, and Sharon Sullivan, both of DeLand, FL; his nieces and nephews Erin, Paul Jr., Shane, and Ryan along with their spouses; as well as many extended family members and great friends.

Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Gerald Vincent and Evelyn (Goodrow) Sullivan. He was educated at St. Peter's Grammar School, Holy Name High School (Class of 1975), and graduated from Assumption College.

Jerry was a man of faith and built his life around serving others. His career focused on social work for those in need. Prior to his retirement, he supported the Worcester community as a case manager for the Department of Mental Health at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 20 years. He volunteered his time supporting food pantries and homeless shelters. Jerry was a former member of St. Denis Church and Assumption Church in Millbury. He and Mary volunteered as Pre-Cana mentors. Most recently, he was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in East Sandwich.

Jerry was known for his compassion, wit. and humor. A lifelong animal lover, Jerry loved his dogs and held a deep affection for all creatures, great and small. He will be greatly missed by his loyal pup, Kirby. He enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, and landscaping. Jerry was dedicated to his family, and had a passion for learning about his Irish heritage and researching his ancestry, making many wonderful memories on trips to Ireland. He resided in Plymouth for the past 10 years where he enjoyed spending time near the ocean.

Jerry's kindness, humor, strength, and humility will forever remain in the hearts that knew him.

Calling hours will be held in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on Friday, August 29th from 4-6 PM. His funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 30th in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
