Gerald C. "Jerry" Sweetman, age 50, Bay City, passed away Saturday in his home in Bay City. Jerry was born on October 9, 1974, in Bay City to Gerald F. and Lynda (Christenson) Sweetman. As a child, Jerry enjoyed playing baseball, running track, basketball and going camping. He graduated from Unionville-Sebewaing High School in 1992. He worked as an electrician for PowerCom. Jerry enjoyed riding motorcycle, animals, singing karaoke, going to the cabin, boating, fishing and hunting with his kids and family. Jerry had tons of friends whom he loved dearly. Jerry is survived by his children: Elliott Sweetman, Parker Sweetman and Irelyn Sweetman; mother, Lynda Sweetman of Akron; brother, Daniel (Lori) Sweetman of Unionville; sister, Rebecca (Brad) Sting of Unionville; nieces and nephew: Ally, Mya and Carter Sweetman and Katelyn and Emily Sting; the mothers of his 3 children: Carey and Krista; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Gerald F. Sweetman; and grandparents: Vern and Elizabeth Christenson and Orval and Beatrice Sweetman. Per Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Any memorial donations may be given to Daniel Sweetman, to go toward the care of Jerry's 3 children.
