Gerald F. "Gerry" Vinopal, a proud Marine veteran, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025-leaving this world with the same unforgettable flair and timing that defined his life.
Born in Rice Lake, WI, Gerry came into the world with a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. He lived boldly, laughed loudly, and loved without limits. Known for doing things his own way-always the "Gerry Way"-he filled every room with energy, humor, and stories that grew richer with each telling. He believed in working hard, enjoying life, and surrounding himself with people who embraced joy and adventure just as he did.
Gerry's career in sales and hospitality suited him perfectly. He excelled at connecting with people, forming close friendships, and bringing his signature warmth to every interaction. Whether sharing stories at the Snugs in Milwaukee or making new friends along the way, he had a gift for building camaraderie wherever he went. As a Marine, Gerry carried his service with honor throughout his life and cherished the brotherhood he found with the Desoto Detachment 588.
Above all, Gerry's heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his wife, Rose Vinopal; his children, Craig (Betsy) Vinopal and Kim (Christ) Brown; and his grandchildren, Nicholas (Fiancé, Amanda), Jackson, Christian, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Darwin (Jody) Vinopal, and his sister, Cheri Vinopal. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pat (Will) Adams, and his parents, Frank and Margaret Vinopal.
Gerry leaves behind countless friends, fellow Marines, and cherished "characters" who will forever remember his laughter, his stories, and the unmistakable joy he brought into every moment. His spirit lives on in the memories shared and the lives he touched.
A celebration of Gerry's life will be held on December 14th at 1:00 PM at Robert Toale & Sons, Celebration of Life Center at Lakewood Ranch, 4310 Solutions Ln. Bradenton, FL 34211, where family and friends will gather to honor his life, share stories, and raise a glass in his memory. A burial service will take place at Holy Trinity Parish in Haugen, WI in the spring of 2026.
Semper Fi, Gerry. We love and miss you!
