Obituary for
Gerald Willette
Hodgdon, Gerald Willette, 69, left us for his journey home on November 29, 2022. Jerry slipped away peacefully with his loving wife by his side after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on July 1, 1953, in Houlton, the son of Ernest and Joyce (Smith) Willette.
Jerry met the love of his life, Cindy (Thornton) they were married on December 31, 1993, and they would share a wonderful 28 years of marriage. Jerry was employed by A.E. Staley, now known as Tate 'n Lyle for over 30 years. Upon retiring he was asked to come back to troubleshoot which he happily did. Jerry enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, taking cruises, riding his motorcycle with Cindy, and his '73 Roadrunner. Bowling was another pastime Jerry also enjoyed and you could often find him on Saturday mornings sharing his love for the sport with children by teaching them to bowl. Jerry was a member of the Houlton Odd Fellows Hall and the Houlton Elks Lodge #835.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; son Weldon Willette and his wife Amanda of Hodgdon, Daughter Ona Carriero and her husband Joe of Pittston, son Frank Dorr and his wife Tara of Bridgewater, daughter Wendy Shaw and her husband Wayne of Littleton, son Seth Dorr and his wife McKensie of Linneus, daughter Kaitlynne Dorr of Houlton, two sisters Melissa Gehue of Indian Brook, Nova Scotia and Stephanie Willette of Bridgewater, brother Shawn Craig of Bridgewater as well as grandchildren Deserae Veillette, Cierra Willette, Brandon Williams, Braden Dow, Charles Dorr, Aurianna Dorr, Marissa Dow, Walker Shaw, great grandchildren Madison Williams, Kaylee Veillette, Ashton Dorr, Theo Dorr, Kamden Shaw, and Payton Shaw and his "firecracker" Scarlette Dorr who called him "Pop".
Jerry also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and several very special nieces, nephews, and many friends in Nova Scotia.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents Ernest Willette and Joyce (Smith) Craig and grandson Dustin Shaw.
At Jerry's request there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers please plant a tree in his memory. The family wishes to say a special thanks to Northern Lights Home Health Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness during this time.
