Sister Geraldine Brown departed this life December 5, 2021, at 12:21pm after a lengthy illness at Capital Oaks Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Geraldine was born on May 16, 1942, to the union of Rev. Henry Brown Sr. and Estelle Dogan Brown. She was the seventh of their eight children.Geraldine was a 1960 graduate of Cohn High School in Port Allen, La. She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge. She moved to New York City and worked as a nanny for three years before returning to Port Allen. Geraldine was baptized at Mount Bethel Baptist Church in West Baton Rouge Parish. She later became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for many years before her illness.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her memories to one sister, Bettye Brown Smith of Baton Rouge, a sister-in-law Mildred M. Brown of Richmond, Ca., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Geraldine was proceeded in death by her parents, Rev. Henry Brown Sr. and Estelle and Brown, three brothers, Henry Brown Jr., Rozell Brown and John Brown, and three sisters, Annabell Winding, Doris Lawson, and Ruby Hawkins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Celebration Of Life Service on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 am at Professional Funeral Services, Inc. 1151 Louisiana Avenue, Port Allen, Louisiana 70767, Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the hour of services.
