View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Geraldine Hardison Clay, 96, former longtime resident of Leftwich Bridge Community, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at The Gardens at Poplar Estates where she had made her home for the past few years. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Bryan, David Stofel, and Cary Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery in the Leftwich Bridge Community. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Jackson Cemetery, c/o Ricky Clay, 2915 Mere Drive, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Eslie Hardison and Ruth Tindell Hardison. On August 13, 1938 she married Harlan C. Clay who preceded her in death on February 25, 1999. Mrs. Clay retired as custodian at Whitthorne Middle School after several years employment. She was a devout Christian and longtime member of Antioch Church of Christ. Mrs. Clay was a loving wife, a proud mother and grandmother and trusted friend. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking; but the joy of her life was her family, including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Survivors include daughters, Sondra (James) Stofel of Columbia; Kathleen (Fred) Hanson of Chattanooga; Glenda Bolton of Spring Hill; son, Ricky (Kim) Clay of Columbia; grandchildren, Dawn (Timmy) Chapman of Lewisburg; David (Alice) Stofel of Lawrenceburg; Danny Stofel of Columbia; Diane Stofel of Knoxville; Katrina (Bart) Merriman of Cleveland; Timothy (Julie) Hanson of Rossville, Georgia; Dana (Billy) Tanner of Columbia; Jeff Bolton of Spring Hill; Jason (Jessica) Bolton of Columbia; Denise (John) Dillingham of Chapel Hill; Kendal Clay of Columbia; Cary (Jennifer) Clay of Nashville; Casey (Michael) Gray of Franklin; great grandchildren, Audrey (Tyler) Brown, Drew (Amber) Stofel, Luke Stofel, Brittany Chapman, Christopher Chapman, Whitney Stofel, Dylan Stofel, Shaun Hanson, Jesse Hanson, Daniel Merriman, Nicole (Joel) Sanders, Joshua Bolton, Jared Bolton, Jace Bolton, Joey Bolton, Blake Bolton, Will Dillingham, Isaac Dillingham, Peyton Clay, Matthew Clay, McKee Gray; great great grandchildren, Emree Brown, Tatum Brown, Kaymin Stofel, Camden Sanders. She was preceded in death by brother, Harrison Hardison and son-in-law, Bill Bolton. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will include elders and deacons of Antioch Church of Christ, employees of Poplar Estates, and Dr. Padma Narra.
