Geraldine Matie Cook, age 101, of Fisk, MO, died Monday, August 4, 2025 at Westwood Hills Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Cook was born October 24, 1923 in Coloma, MI, daughter of the late Ivan and Vernal Ryno (Dodd).

Geraldine graduated in 1941 from Coloma High School in Coloma, MI. She had several different jobs throughout her life. She worked as a receptionist for a doctor's office and worked 10 years as a case worker at Berrien County Social Services in the State of Michigan, retiring in 1985. She was a 4-H leader while her children were growing up, sharing her talents in sewing and cooking. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Watervliet, Michigan for many years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also loved playing Yahtzee and was known for almost always beating her family.

On December 5, 1942 she married Orin Newton Cook. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Surviving are four children: Linda Gioupis of Fisk, MO, Jon (Terry) Cook of Weogufka, AL, Melissa (Phil) Talamo of Jacksonville, FL, and Cheryl Fardello of Glencoe, AL; eight grandchildren: Douglas Schulz, Jason (Britney) Schulz, Catherine (Kurt) Stevens, Michael (Leslie) Ishmael, Lori (Joey) Graves, Randy Geigle, Tricia (Chuck) Wimberley, and Brian Geigle; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was also preceded in death by one brother: Rodney Ryno; one grandson: Jonathon Cook; and one great-granddaughter: Linda Schulz.
