Services for Geraldine Hale Fletcher will be on Saturday, Sept 13th at 2 pm, at Verda Baptist Church with the Rev Frank Peacock officiating. Interment will follow at Aloha-St Rose cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the church from 10 am until time of services. Mrs Fletcher died peacefully on Sept 11, 2025 at Reunion Nursing Home in Colfax, Louisiana.

She was a graduate of Verda High School and worked for a year at the Stock Exchange in Shreveport before returning home to marry the love of her life, Randell Fletcher. Together, they built a life on the farm with cows, dogs, cats and horses and every now and then, a baby squirrel or raccoon. She loved her yard and tending to her flowers, especially her prized day lillies. She loved to cook and has probably made 1000 pounds of chicken dressing, an 18 wheeler full of chocolate pies and too many pones of cornbread and pans of biscuits to count. She loved her grandchildren and babysat them for many years while their parents worked. In fact, there was nothing she liked more than being a Granny and the whole world knew her by that name. She made play doh and koolaid popsicles, costumes and pillow forts and she taught them about Jesus. They went on farm adventures and tractor rides and every one of them cried when it was time to go home. She taught Sunday School at Verda Baptist Church for 30 years and served as church clerk for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty nine years, Randell Fletcher, her parents, Ebben and Gladys Hale, her brothers Avon Hale, Ebben Hale Jr. and Nathan Hale, one sister, Betty Sanders, her daughter in law, Candy Jones Fletcher and great grandson, Logan Ammons.

She is survived by her son R. Stevan Fletcher, her daughters, Becky Reeder and Celeste Fletcher (Johnny Wardlow) all of Aloha, La. Her grandchildren, Kristen Tarver (Adam) Joshua Fletcher, Carrie Butler (Blake) Heather Herron (Joe) Zach Reeder (Samantha) and Leanne Foreman (Clay) She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Indy Ammons, Luke Butler, Allie Butler, Seth Herron, Kate Herron, Rhett Reeder, Lane Reeder, Brady Foreman and Camille Foreman.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Fletcher, Zach Reeder, Indy Ammons, Luke Butler, Seth Herron and Brady Foreman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Jackson, Dr. Greg Brian, Eddie Sanders, Bob Sanders, Peyton Sanders, Robert Sanders, Adam Tarver, Blake Butler, Clay Foreman and Joe Herron.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Verda Baptist Church Building Fund @ Verda Baptist Church c/o Paxton Teddlie 145 Simmons Road, Atlanta, La. 71404
