Geraldine worked at the United States Post Office before retiring after many years. Geraldine was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church here in Jacksonville for many years.
On Friday April 4, 2025 Geraldine slept away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Johnson; and her parents, James and Deloris Oliver.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her brothers, Theodore Byers (Doreatha), James Oliver (Mary) and Don Oliver; sisters, Janice Genwright, Claire Goodwin and Mary Deloris Oliver; her bonus daughter, Susan Gonzalez (Francisco); her bonus sons, James Johnson and Mark Johnson; grandchildren, Myles James Miller, Gabrielle Gonzalez, Emilio Gonzalez and Christopher Johnson; great grandchildren, Zhaki Caleb Miller; her only living aunt, Azalene Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

I just found out about the passing of this very sweet person. Geri was a joy to work with and be around. She and James were a lovely couple with a great life. May God grant peace to your family during this sorrowful time.

Gerri (and James until death) was our next door neighbor for around 40 plus years and what a wonderful neighbor and Christian friend she was to Suzy and I. We loved her outgoing spirit to always wave and speak when she was going by or just working in the yard (she loved to have beautiful lawn and Don has fulfilled that wish for her). In the past Gerri would come over and get with Suzy to discuss different Bible presentations that she was preparing to give to the ladies. Though I was not involved I was proud of her hard work to make sure what she taught were Biblical truths.
All the neighbors will miss her
