Geraldine J. Lampkins, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert M. Lampkins, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Robert M. Lampkins, Jr. of Johnson City, TN and Faye Lampkins Yeargin of Emory, VA; two wonderful loving grandsons, Robert M. Lampkins III of Johnson City, TN and Devan Cordell Yeargin of Emory, VA. Also surviving Mrs. Lampkins are her sisters, Mrs. Nellie Foster of Abingdon, VA and Marie Smith of Hartford, CT; brother, Mr. Michael E. Jones of Blountville, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and family.
A devoted member of Valley Street Baptist Church, Mrs. Lampkins served as a Sunday School teacher until her health prevented her participation. Always willing to give an ear for listening and a shoulder for support, “Aunt Gerry” will be sorely missed by those who loved and cared for her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210. with Dwayne Knight officiating. Please arrive at the Cemetery by 1:45 p.m.
