Geraldine E. Lord Leeman

1932 – 2025

Geraldine Leeman, 93, of South Portland passed away on August 31, 2025, in Hallowell.

Gerry was born in Portland, Maine on May 20, 1932, to Gerald E. and Myrtle Prout Lord. She lived in South Portland most of her life, graduating from South Portland High School, class of 1950 and was employed as secretary by the South Portland School Department for twenty-four years.

Gerry married Ronald S. Leeman on May 29, 1954, and they were married for 50 years before his death in 2004. They raised four daughters who survive her: Vicki Record (Thomas), Deborah Leeman, Brenda Maksut (Michael) and Gail Johnson (Thomas). She also leaves grandchildren: Michael, Kristen, Ian, Mikayla, Kimberly and Nathan and great-grandchildren: James, Emmet, Hadley, McKenna, Myla, Hollyanne and Millie.

She also leaves sisters-in-law Louise MacVane and Nancy Leeman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Lord and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She wished to thank Woodlands Senior Living of Hallowell, Andwell Hospice, and Family Focused Healthcare for their care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Portland Historical Society or the charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be held on October 1 at 2pm at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough. Arrangements are in the care of Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd, South Portland. Thoughts, memories and photos can be shared on the Hobbs Funeral Home website at www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.
