Geraldine McCurry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia on Dec. 29, 2025.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine "Gerri" McCurry on December 27, 2025. Born on February 7, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, Gerri was the embodiment of wit, talent, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She lived a life full of vibrancy, love, and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Gerri always prioritized what was most important to her – her family.

Gerri's talents were as diverse as they were numerous but her true passion was found in the realms of craft. An accomplished crafter and quilter, she possessed an untamed creativity that she channeled into beautiful works of art. Her love for sewing was only rivaled by her love for the mountains. She was a passionate bird watcher, finding immense joy in the beauty and intricacy of hummingbirds. Gerri loved visiting the casino and playing her favorite slots. She also loved to laugh and enjoyed watching SNL reruns.

Gerri's life was deeply rooted in love. She was married to her beloved husband, William McCurry, since April 20, 1968. Together, they raised their two children, Melissa Woods (Robert) and William McCurry (Heather), in Philadelphia, before moving to White Haven in 2001. She was the mom mom of Kayla McCurry. She was also survived by her brother, William Gregor. Gerri's memory will also be kept alive by her late dog Neena, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Gregor.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. Her Memorial Service will follow 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In honoring Gerri's vibrant life, we encourage all who knew her to leave their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. Let us celebrate her exceptional spirit, her limitless love, and the countless ways she made our world a brighter place to live.
