Geraldine A. Rubinetti, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York City and raised in Little Italy, Geraldine moved to Bloomfield 58 years ago, where she built a beautiful life rooted in love, family, and community. She was a proud member of the "Golden Girls" breakfast club and cherished her time spent with close friends.
Geraldine was the beloved wife of the late Roger Rubinetti, and the devoted mother of Roger Rubinetti and his wife Denise, and Donna Heussler and her husband Kevin. She was the adored grandmother of Jonathan, Ryan, AJ, Roger Jr., and Nicole-each of whom held a special place in her heart.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield on Monday, May 5th at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad Street, Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geraldine's memory to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Family meant everything to Geraldine. Her first love was her husband Roger, whom she dearly missed for the past 23 years. Her children, Donna and Roger, were the center of her world, and she cherished their love and support-especially in her final days. She adored their spouses, Kevin and Denise, and treasured the memories they all shared together.
Geraldine's grandsons were the light of her life. She helped raise and shape them into the kind, compassionate, and fun-loving men they are today. Her love for them was immeasurable, and they adored her in return. Nicole, who joined the family through her relationship with Ryan, became like a granddaughter to Geraldine and was embraced with deep love.
A hardworking woman throughout her life, Geraldine helped her single mother raise her beloved brother, Danny. She shared a special bond with Danny and his wife, Tony, and they remained close throughout the years. Her sister-in-law, Dorothy Chesney, became the sister she never had, and their relationship only grew stronger over time.
Geraldine also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love extended to her cherished grand-fur-babies: Tilly, Harry, Tigs, Jax, Maverick, Goose, Gus, and Jac.
She was a passionate sports fan-especially of hockey and football-and cheered enthusiastically for the New York Islanders, Giants, and Jets. She also loved cooking and baking, spending many happy hours watching the Food Network and Hallmark Channel. Her sausage and peppers were a family favorite and a symbol of her love through food.
Geraldine lived life on her own terms-with strength, love, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering devotion to family, deep friendships, and countless treasured memories. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

"I was truly honored to have known Jerry! Her strength, kindness, and courage touched everyone around them. Though her time with us was far too short, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Sending deepest sympathies to her family during this difficult time. I will miss talking to her about our favorite wines!
