Geralyn was born on April 5, 1956 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Frederick and Lois (Dueweke) Baroth. Nancy helped to raise Geralyn through her teen years after Lois' passing. On July 8, 1977 Geralyn married James Mielke at St. Peter Catholic Church in Harper Woods, Michigan; together they were married 48 years and had two daughters. Geralyn enjoyed crafting handmade greeting cards and crocheting baby blankets and wedding afghans. Geralyn was an active member at Lakeside Bible Chapel in Sterling Heights, Michigan for just over 25 years. She was strong in her faith and devoted to her family, rarely missing sports activities and school concerts. She also was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings.
Beloved wife of James; loving mother of Heather (Joel) Hooton and Hilary (Richard) Burback; adored nana of Riley, Nicklas, Justin and Anna; loving daughter of the late Frederick, the late Lois and the late Nancy; and cherished sister of the late Jeffrey Baroth, James (Rhonda) Baroth, Julie (Robert) Finegan, Catherine (Joel) Jackson and Janet Johnson. Geralyn is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation for Geralyn will be Friday, November 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a 9:00 a.m. instate at the funeral home.
Private burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Lakeside Bible Chapel, Sterling Heights.
