Gerard "Jerry" Stone, age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital with his loving wife, Paula Jamison Stone by his side.
Jerry was born on September 11, 1950, in New Orleans, LA, the son of the late Bernard and Janet Cooper Stone. Jerry's life was one of passion, dedication, and a love for his wife and family.
Jerry’s career was marked by entrepreneurship and innovation. He owned and managed his own business, Leather4U, for many years, showcasing his salesmanship. He also operated a Carquest Auto Parts franchise, a venture that allowed him the ability to connect with many vendors, customers and employees.
Education was a cornerstone of Jerry's early life. He attended Loyola University, where he made a notable impact as a scholarship basketball player. His athleticism and competitive spirit served him well, and later in life, Jerry became a professional bowler, demonstrating his lifelong dedication to sports and competition.
Jerry was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, often sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends. His love for travel took him to various car shows and various trade shows where he cherished the opportunity to meet people and engage in meaningful conversations.
He leaves behind a cherished family, including his beloved wife of twenty-five years, Paula Jamison Stone of Jackson; his stepdaughter, Amanda Holst and her two sons, Jack and Mason; his niece, Stacey Stone; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Jamison and Michael Jamison and wife Shannon, as well as his sister-in-law, Suzanne Jamison. Each of them will carry forward his spirit and fond memories.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Janet Cooper Stone, whose legacy continues to shine through his life and those who loved him.
SERVICE: The visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. His funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Danny Sorrell of Campbell Street church of Christ officiating.

Jerry will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
