Mr. Gerard Lauture of Stamford returns to his Eternal Father on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 82.
Gerard Lauture was born in "La Vallee de Jacmel" on October 25, 1940. He finished his studies at Saint Louis de Gonzague and went to work for Acra where he retired to migrate to the US.
He was the Patriarch of his family and a pioneer in his community here and abroad. A faithful and devoted Catholic, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Gerard Lauture was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Anne Carmen Lauture. Two sisters Odette Quarless and Leone Lauture; three brothers, Seide, Jean and Salomon Lauture.
He is survived by his children, Dominique Jean Pierre and wife Lucille, Gerald Lauture and wife Denise, Marie Flore Lauture, Patrick Lauture and his wife Carole, Frantz Lauture and his wife Emmanuella, Jean Edouard Lauture and his wife Joana and Margarette (Maggy) Dort and husband Kepler. Sixteen grandchildren, Five great grandchildren. His brothers and sisters; Reynold Lauture, Appoline Clebert, Jean Sylvere Lauture, Jean Yves Lauture, Annette Lauture, Ermitha Bourguignon and Michaelle Gabriel and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends to cherish his memories.
To honor his life, family and friends will gather on Friday, September 1 st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bosak Funeral Home – 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 2nd at Saint Cecilia Church – 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery – 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Saint Jude Children Hospital or the Ann Clemande Julien Foundation. Gerard Lauture was loved and cherished; he will be greatly missed by all.
