Jocelyne Lauture, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on January 22, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and later migrated to the United States with her mother, Charlotte Smith. Jocelyne went on to make history of her own, becoming one of the first Haitian-born students to graduate from Stamford High School, Class of 1972. She later became the first in her family to proudly earn American citizenship. Jocelyne worked faithfully for the City of Stamford at Smith House from June 23, 1978 until February 13, 1997, when she chose to pursue other opportunities. After relocating to Florida, she continued her dedication to serving others while working at the Park Regency Assisted Living Facility from 2002 until 2006. Deeply rooted in her faith, Jocelyne was an active member of her church community, a devoted worshipper, and a lover of music. She especially enjoyed southern gospel music, admired Jimmy Swaggart's ministry, and was a faithful viewer of the TBN network. In her youth, she also acted in several church plays, sharing her gifts and spirit with others. Above all, Jocelyne was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Serge Lauture and Daniel Lauture, who will forever cherish her guidance, strength, and unwavering love. She is survived by her sons, Serge and Daniel; her sisters, Molene Smith and Jacquelyn Roy; her brother, Frantz Antoine Leconte; and a host of extended family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Her life will be remembered as one of dedication-to her family, her faith, and the communities she served. Jocelyne's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd from 10am to 11am at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT, followed by a Prayer Service at 11am at the funeral home. If you wish to make a remembrance for the family, you may sign the family guestbook at www.bosakfuneralhome.com or www.facebook.com/bosakfuneralhome.
