Gerardo Marin Robledo

Mr. Gerardo Marín Robledo, 68, of Evanston, Illinois, passed away suddenly on September 1st, 2023.
Gerardo was born on November 10, 1954, to Elvira Robledo Garcia & Gonzalo Marin Terrazas in Pucuato, Michoacan, Mexico.
The 5th, of 11 siblings. Gerardo developed his strong work ethic at a young age, when at the age of 6 he started to help his father in the family business. Helping the family with various endeavors and responsibilities.
After workings his young years in Mexico, he immigrated to Chicago and found jobs in various restaurants and businesses. In 1985, he began working for Real Estate Investor, Cameel Halim, and began a 38-year career of maintaining various properties across the Chicago and the North Shore neighborhoods.
In 1974, Gerardo met Maria Herundina Padilla Perez in Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacan, Mexico. Gerardo and Maria went on to have five children, Fanny Villalobos, Gerardo Marín, Hilda Marín Del Rio, Jorge Marín, and Jennifer Marín.
He will be remembered for his kindness, calm nature, and strong work ethic. Always a hard worker, Gerardo never had the chance to retire, but he always found time to enjoy grilling for his family, playing with his Grandkids, and watching his favorite Western Films. He treated all those that he knew with love and was always ready to help in any occasion. His kindness and warm nature made an impact on many lives. He was taken from us too soon and will be forever missed.
Gerardo was predeceased by mother Elvira Robledo Garcia, father Gonzalo Marin Terrazas and granddaughter Mariela Dolores Marin. He is survived by his wife Maria Herundina Marin, children Fanny Villalobos, Gerardo Marin, Hilda Marin Del Rio Jorge Marin, Jennifer Marin, grandchildren Vanessa Prado, Vicente Villalobos, Andres Villalobos, Alex Villalobos, Angelina Gabriela Villalobos, Guadalupe Marin, Karla Marin, Sofia Lucila Del Rio, Jeshua Marin, Alicia Maria Del Rio, Miguel Reyes Marin, Gabriel Gonzalo Del Rio, and great-grandchild Benjamin Prado, siblings Mario Marin, Gloria Medina, Elena Baca, Rosalba Patino, Odilia Herrera, Gonzalo Marin, Argelio Marin, Rosio Espino, Laura Camacho and Claudio Marin.
Services will be held at Riverwoods Funeral Chapel, 205 S River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
