Gilbert Eugene Peaugh

Gilbert Eugene Peaugh, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 peacefully at his home.
Gilbert was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 13, 1939 to the late Fred and Doris (Miser) Peaugh. He honorably served in the United States Navy. Gilbert was a jack of all trades. Over the years, Gilbert worked for Whrilpool, Evansville Housing Authority, and poured concrete on the side with his brother. Later in life, Gilbert started his own business, Hot Shot Delivery, where he would deliver various goods to people all over the tri-state. He had strong faith and was a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church. He was a kind-hearted, man of few words. Family was most important to Gilbert. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Gilbert is survived by his twin daughters, Mindy Strong (Greg) and Cindy Wright (Charlie) of Sparta, TN; daughter, Amy Kerchief (Paul) both of Evansville, IN; son, Jeff Peaugh of Evansville, IN; sisters, Linda Bush (John) of Newburgh, IN and Mary Hedges of Evansville, IN; brother, Randall Peaugh (Debbie) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jon Wright (Paige), Brittany Peaugh, Matthew Strong (Sara), Daniel Strong, David Kerchief, Catey Kerchief, Coltyn Peaugh, Dradyn Peaugh; and great-grandchildren, Blakelynn, Greyson, and Elliot Wright; and one great-grandson due in October, Jack Strong.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Catherine Ann (Turpin) Peaugh; his parents; brothers, Fred Peaugh, Jr., George Peaugh, and William Gerald Peaugh; and infant grandson, Wesley Allen Strong.
A celebration of Gilbert's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Rev. Barry Kirves officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery where the Retired Veteran's Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at Browning Funeral Home.
