Gilbert B. Campos, Sr., 75, of Levelland passed from this life on January 24, 2022. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, and Friday, January 28, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens in Woodrow.
He was born in Natalia, Texas on September 21, 1946 to Alejandro and Velia Campos. Gilbert worked for Pioneer Well Service, N-L Well Service, Sundown Well Service, Well-Co Well Service, Key Well Service and Basic Well Service before retiring after 45 years in the oilfield.
Gilbert enjoyed watching cowboy movies, playing bingo, tinkering outdoors, family meals and phone calls to his kids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Campos, Sr.; mother, Velia B. Campos; sister, Erestine Torrez; brothers, Ramiro Campos, Jesse Campos, Henry Campos, Frank Campos, Alejandro Campos, and Armando Campos; and grandson, Aaron Corrales.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Gloria Campos; children, Gilbert (Alma) Campos, Jr. of Levelland, LeRoy (Rosie) Campos, Sr. of Levelland, Sandy (Ronny) Prado of Levelland, Rodney Campos of Lubbock, Sophie Ramirez of Lubbock, A.J. (Sarah) Campos of Levelland, Adrian Dominic Chavez of Austin and Steven Duran III of Levelland; his “swamper” of all time, Terri Duncan; siblings, Jose (Elvia) Campos of Lubbock, Erma (Freddy) Acosta of Lubbock, Gloria (Eddie) Elias of Lubbock and Olga Campos; 26 grandchildren; and 51 great grandchildren.
