Obituary
Giovanni "John" Rizzo, age 93, passed away on June 28, 2023. Giovanni was born in Messina, Italy on the island of Sicily. Son of the late Santi Rizzo and Flavia (nee Barrila) Rizzo. John is survived by his brother Benito "Benny" Rizzo (Phyllis) of Washington Township, NJ and his sister Frances Lubrano of Italy. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his sister Sara and his brother Giuseppe.
John lived for many years in South and Northeast Philadelphia before moving to South Jersey. He worked as an insurance agent for both Prudential Insurance Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Upon moving to South Jersey, John became an avid gardener, growing his own vegetables in the backyard. John never married but was always in demand by his lady friends as a ballroom dancing partner. He loved dancing in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area and was well known for his dance steps. John will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday July 3, 2023 from 9:00am to 9:50am at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall,, PA 19008. Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA
