G. L. Wise of Campbellsville, son of the late Omer Wise and Lizzie Jane Hardesty Wise, was born August 19, 1938 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 5:48 A.M., Monday, November 10, 2025 in Campbellsville. Age: 87
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.
G. L. was a retired foreman with the Taylor County Road Department and a life-long farmer. He had also worked in the tobacco warehouse in Lebanon for forty years.
He united in marriage to Phyllis Bertram December 19, 1964.
Besides his wife, Phyllis Wise of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters: Janice Chappell and husband, Bobby and Latricia Speer and husband, Mark of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Robin Smith and husband, Kyle, Jessica Paris and husband, Jacob, Brittany Speer and fiancé, Tyler Frogge and Matthew Speer and fiancé, Madison Thurman; four great-grandchildren: Robby Smith, Kyler Smith, Layla Paris and Gage Paris; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
G. L. was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Chester “Bill” Wise, Earl Wise, Carl Wise, Donald Wise, Aileen Harrison, Nannie Livers, Opal Mae Wise and Maudie Rafferty.
