Gladys Marie Garner, a resilient soul known for her thoughtful nature, passed away on September 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and loyalty that will forever be engraved in the hearts of her loved ones. Born on October 9, 1944, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Gladys was a woman of extraordinary character who lived her life with boundless love, unwavering loyalty, and an enduring spirit that inspired everyone who knew her. As Maya Angelou once said, "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated." Gladys was the epitome of these words, facing life's trials with courage and grace.

As a longtime resident of Forney, Texas, Gladys was a beacon of love and strength in her community. She was a retired professional who dedicated her golden years to the things that mattered most to her - family and friends. Her love for her family was profound and boundless, and her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her delightful cooking. Gladys was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a doting great-grandmother. She was a loyal friend who touched many lives with her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Gladys is survived by her children, Tracy Harrell, Shannon Arterburn, and Chad Killingsworth, her grandchildren, Chaz Tarwater, Reagan Arterburn, and Jacob (wife Mandy), and her great-grandchildren, Stony, Candan, Kimber, Drake Tarwater and Degan Tarwater. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Perry. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ruby Garner, and her siblings, Bernice Perry and Charles Perry. Each family member carries with them a piece of Gladys's spirit, her love for life, and the lessons she imparted.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." While Gladys may no longer be with us, her love and her spirit live on in all those who knew and cherished her. We invite you to share your memories of Gladys and upload photos to the memorial page. Remember, she lives on in each story shared, each photo posted, and in every loving memory.
