Gladys Polednik

1921 - 2024

Gladys (Therrien) Polednik, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 102, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry Polednik Jr. who died January 15, 1977.

Born in Attleboro, MA, on October 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Donalda (Aussant) Therrian.

Gladys was raised and educated in Attleboro and was employed at the former Dodgeville Finishing Company for 35 years. She was a communicant of the former St. Stephen's Church in Dodgeville, MA.

Gladys leaves three daughters, Marilyn Fuller of North Attleboro, Maureen Hesketh and her husband Don of North Fort Myers, FL, and Lorri Bousquet and her husband Richard of Plainville. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Tammy Fuller, Michael Fuller & his wife Tammy, James Fuller and his wife Gabriele, Timothy Fuller and his wife Mary, Craig Hesketh, Jeffrey Hesketh and his wife Lisa, Kelly Berard, Stephanie (Bousquet) Kenney and her husband Justin, and Joe Bousquet and his wife Alexandria, plus numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gladys was predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Boots, George, and Fred Therrien, and sisters Rose (Therrien) Morse, and Doris (Therrien) Alger.

Gladys especially loved her Red Sox, always a life-long fan, and enjoyed a trip to Fenway Park in 2016 with her granddaughter Tammy and a group from Life Care. Gladys read her Sun Chronical every day from beginning to end, even the ads. She loved watching the birds through her window, attending the various Entertainment offered by Life Care, and never missed a Sunday Mass.

The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Life Care Center of Attleboro for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Gladys during her time there.
Gladys was treated very well and considered the staff a second family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro. Burial will take place at St. Stephen's Cemetery, South Main Street, Attleboro.
