Paul Lapierre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duffy-Poule Funeral & Cremation Services - Attleboro on Feb. 19, 2026.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable man, Paul David Lapierre, who left us too soon on February 15, 2026. Born on March 4, 1953, in Providence, RI, Paul was a creative spirit, a generous soul, and a loving husband, brother, and friend. His love for life was contagious, and his passion for learning knew no bounds. Paul was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Bishop Feehan High School, and Massasoit Community College. He served as a Sargeant in the Air Force, stationing in Germany and California. Later, he worked for NASA, iRobot, and Boston Scientific, leaving notable contributions in the field of electronic software testing. His creative ingenuity led him to invent a horizontal windmill and an observatory-sized telescope. Paul was a man of loyalty and dedication, adjectives that barely scratch the surface of his admirable character.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Lapierre, his mother, Loretta Lapierre, and his siblings, Linda Beith, Susan Keith, Peter Lapierre, Carol Glenn, Lauren and Paul Ringuette, Michele and Brendan Doherty, Maria and Mitchell MacDonald, Christopher and Jennifer Lapierre and his children Daniel Lapierre and Kelly Perez as well as his grandchildren, Taylor and Veronica Lapierre, Danielle Guenther, Robert Kinter, Lydia Perez, great-grandchild Paisley Guenter, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife's siblings Gregory and Susan Cooper, Paula and Christopher Fahey, and Jill Simpson. Paul's life was sadly preceded by his father, Armand Lapierre, his step-son Eric Cooper, his father-in-law James Cooper, his mother-in-law Joan Cooper, his brother-in-laws Bradley Keith and James Beith. As the poet Rumi once said, "Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation."

A gifted engineer, Paul was the family's "go-to" handyman. An avid gardener, he loved refurbishing vintage stereo and audio equipment and was a master of hardware and software technology. He was a spirited man who loved a good debate and research on just about any topic. His out-of-the-box thinking was a testament to his creativity. His generosity knew no bounds; he was always available to assist family and friends. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, particularly to beach locations. His love for his wife, family, and home was unwavering.

Please join us in celebrating Paul's life and remembering his legacy. The services are under the care of Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. In this difficult time, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Paul to the memorial page. His unique spirit and generous heart touched us all. As we mourn the loss of our loved one, let us remember the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Paul's spirit will continue to live on in all of us. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

We encourage those who knew Paul to share their memories on his memorial page, as a tribute to his life. Please visit www.duffy-poule.com
