Gladys Simon, age 100 of Massillon, passed away January 13, 2026 surrounded by her family.
She was born September 18, 1925, in Lewisville, Denton County, TX the daughter of the late Herman Sr. and Mary (O'Neal) Williams .
Gladys retired from Massillon State Hospital after 16 years of service.
She was a member of St. Mary Church and the Canal Fulton VFW Auxiliary #9795. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, cheering on the Cleveland Indians, and watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her sons, Victor (Mary) Simon, Randy Simon, David "Ricky" Simon; daughter, Marie Annette Simon; brothers Royce Williams and Gary Williams; sister, Imogene Walston; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Joseph Simon Sr.; son: Harold Simon Jr.; daughter, Carol Scott; and brothers, Wesley and Kenneth.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12 noon, at Heitger Funeral Home-Jackson Chapel with Rev. Travis Seagraves officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Friday an hour prior to the service from 11am to 12 noon.
Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in North Canton .
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704. Hagerstown, MD 21741.
