Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Spivey, age 87, of Ellijay, passed away Friday, June 27th, 2025. Gladys was born on December 16th, 1937, in Ellijay, GA to her late parents Charles Thomas Dotson and Mattie Jewell Miller. Gladys was a member of the Mine Mile United Methodist Church. Gladys retired from Robert Shaw where she worked for over 25 years. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Weyman Fuller Spivey, sister Pauline Dotson Price, and Brothers Kenneth, Grady and Paul Dotson.
Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-Law Karen and Matthew Crider of Ellijay, Son and Daughter-in-Law Phillip and Angie Spivey of Ellijay, Grandchildren Terren and Meghann Crider, Jarreth Crider, Rev. Thomas and Cristen Spivey and Caylee Spivey, Great-Grandchildren Emory Crider, Coraline Crider, Lochlan Crider, and Atlas Crider. Brother and Sister-in-Law James David and Joann Dotson of Dalton, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 5th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jodi Christensen and Rev. Thomas Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Nine Mile United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted, and donations may be made to the Nine Mile United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Spivey.
