Gladys Loueva Weathington, 88, of Jacksonville, FL passed away May 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 21, 1937 in Edgefield, SC to the late Elton and Loueva (Doolittle) Weathington.
Gladys worked in various fields throughout her life, mostly accounting and retail. She enjoyed working in her garden, working the dirt with her hands and growing new things. Gladys was an avid reader but more than anything loved to cook for her family. Her homemade biscuits, chicken and rice and macaroni and cheese were her most memorable dishes that will be treasured for years to come. Gladys was a beautiful lady with her sweet spirit and earned many titles throughout her life. To be Momma, Granny, Great Grams or Aunt G were her proudest moments. Gladys was deeply loved by all who knew and loved her and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is preceded by her parents; brother, James Weathington; four sons, Leslie, Gary, Wayne and Wiley Weathington and five grandchildren. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Debbie White and Peggy Stephens (Brian); brothers, Ebbie Weathington and Billy Weathington (Rhonda); sisters, Kay Beard (Dan) and Kathy Kimbell; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
