Michael Anthony Weathington

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Michael Anthony Weathington, 53, of Anniston, will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Iron City Baptist Church. Rev. John Blanton will be officiating the service. Michael will be laid to rest in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 until time of service. Burial will follow the service in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Michael passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Those preceding Michael in death include his parents, Roy Eugene and Betty Weathington; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Cobb; and his grandparents, Joseph and Martha Varnell and John Wesley and Bessie Weathington.
Left to cherish the memory of Michael include his wife, Gretchen Cobb Weathington; his daughter, Madeline Alexis Weathington; his siblings, Roy (Cheryl) Weathington, Deborah (Joe) Nabors, Karen (Alan) Yaikow, Max (Kellie) Weathington, Joseph (Tiffany) Weathington, and Lee (Amy) Weathington; his father-in-law, Harmon Cobb; nieces and nephews, Matthew Weathington, Jennifer Simmons, Ashley Gilchrist, Scott Yaikow, Toni Brown, Dana Meier, Luke Weathington, Jaxon Draper, Ashlyn Draper, Jake Weathington, Jolie Weathington, Maysen Schur, Michelle Weathington, Anna Weathington, Harmon Cobb, and Charley Cobb; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; two brothers-in-law, Harmon (Brittany) Cobb and Eston (Rose Marie) Cobb; and his cousin, Scotty (Mandy) Spurling.
Pallbearers for Michael will be Roy Weathington, Max Weathington, Joseph Weathington, Lee Weathington, Jake Weathington, Scott Yaikow, Scott Young, and Robert Trantham. Honorary pallbearers will be Harmon Cobb, Eston Cobb, and Scotty Spurling.
Michael had a service for others and enjoyed being a servant as a deacon at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and Iron City Baptist Church. He was dedicated to helping people in every way possible and loved his Lord and Savior. Michael was a graduate of Alexandria High School, Class of 1989. He married the love of his life, Gretchen, on July 11, 1998, and they welcomed their baby girl, Madeline, on April 14, 2002. Michael was an avid woodworker and gardener and enjoyed fishing in the creek. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend, to all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
