Glen Roy Bentley, affectionately known to many as "Whistle," passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at the age of 82, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Born on December 10, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Glen was a man whose warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Southern Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Phipps officiating. Burial will follow at the Elgin National Cemetery at 1:00 PM, all burial arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.

Glen was a proud graduate of Rush Springs Public Schools, where he first demonstrated his commitment to service and community. After graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam and Korean conflicts, a period of his life that profoundly shaped his character and values. Upon returning to civilian life, Glen continued to serve his community as a dedicated mail carrier for the Rush Springs Post Office, a role he carried out with pride and diligence.

A man of faith, Glen lived his life as a devout Christian, embodying the love and kindness taught in his beliefs. His passion for service extended well beyond his professional life, as he was actively involved in various organizations. Glen was a former Oklahoma State Rodeo President from 1970 to 1974, a lifetime member of the VFW, and served as the DAV Commander of Chapter 17. His commitment to his fellow veterans was unwavering, as evidenced by his roles in the American Legion Post 80 and the Korean War Veteran Chapter 319.

Glen's interests were diverse and deeply rooted in his love for agriculture and the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic participant in 4-H and FFA, where he mentored young people and shared his knowledge and passion for farming and livestock. Those who knew Glen would describe him as friendly, spirited, and gentle-a man whose presence was a comfort and whose laughter was a joy.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Kalera and Jake Weyrick of Weatherford, OK, and two adored grandchildren, who will miss his guidance and unconditional love. Glen is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Allen Bentley and wife Ann of Hobart. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, William Lloyd and Alice Mae (White) Bentley and brother Wayne "Tulip" Bentley.
