Glen Deaver, 89, of Brandon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Barrett House in Ripon with his family by his side.
Glen was born March 4, 1935, the son of Paul and Evelyn Mertens Deaver. On March 26, 1955 he married Dolores Kastein in Fond du Lac. Following marriage they resided in Racine, Waupun, and Brandon. Glen worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 44 years. He was a member of Brandon Fire Department for over 20 years. Glen and Dolores enjoyed traveling on their Harley and playing sheepshead. He was part of Brandon Sno Cubs, the Knights of Columbus, and various softball leagues. Glen and Dolores enjoyed bowling at West Side Lanes.
Glen is survived by his children: Paul Deaver, Teresa (Ron) Thiem, James (Emily) Deaver, Kathleen (Jodie) Stobb, and Mary Durant; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Verda Berkers; godsons: David Deaver and Gary Loop; goddaughter, Kelly Huhndorf; brother-in-law, Earl Wellhouse; and sister-in-law, Donna Kastein.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; brother, Ames (Veronica) Deaver; sisters: Ellen Ann (Roy) Veto and Jean (Richard) Towne; sisters-in-law: Arlene (Marvin) Bille, Catherine (Jerome) Schwartz, and Marie Wellhouse; and brother–in-law, Donald Kastein, and Donald Vande Zande.
Memorial services for Glen Deaver will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation will be held Thursday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In memory of Glen, everyone is asked to wear Wisconsin sports teams apparel for the visitation on Thursday.
