Glen Patrick Gorman, 62, of Norfolk, Virginia, entered the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully on October 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Glen was born in Darby, Pennsylvania, and spent his very early years with his family in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, before settling and enjoying the small-town atmosphere in Barrington, New Jersey. He spent many happy days fishing with his brother, Mike, getting into mischief with life-long friends, and, most recently, spending special time with his older brother, Jim.
He began his career at Counties Contracting and Construction Company in Philadelphia and traveled to many places. In 1990, he married Carrie, and together, they raised two beautiful children, enjoying many happy times on Lake James in Virginia Beach. Lastly, in his career, he was fortunate to be employed by inTerra Innovations, Inc. His family will be forever grateful for their unwavering support throughout his courageous battle against liver cancer. Glen's personality was larger than life, and he was a man who never met a stranger. Quick-witted and funny, he could command any room, no matter the audience. His playful nature and infectious laugh made him a family favorite at every gathering. His love of life and genuine compassion for others will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Glen was predeceased by his son Glennie; and his oldest brother, Jack. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Carrie; daughter, Dana (Cody); granddaughter, Gracie; parents, Joan and Jack; sisters, Diane (Bob), and Kim (Bret); brothers,Jim (Vy) and Mike; brothers-in-law, Brent, Damian (Kim), and Aaron; sisters-in-law, Dar and Gay; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He now joins his son, Glen, Jr., and oldest brother, Jack. Their shared memories, filled with jokes and laughter, will echo in their conversations and heartfelt stories. Together, they will remind each other of the warmth, joy, and happy times they brought to those who loved them.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320 with a reception immediately following in the reception center.
