Ronald Forbes Drumwright(Ronnie) was called to his heavenly home, August 8th, 2025. Born December 12th, 1935 in Morehead City, NC. Born to Edward Alton Drumwright and Hazel Skarren Drumwright.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, his sons Ronald Jr and Matthew(Kathy), grandchildren Kyle and Taylor, sister Nancy Bailey, sister in law Rebecca Irvine(Dick), brother in law Woody Poore(Katy) and his best little buddy Peanut. He graduated in 1955 from Norview High School and attended Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary(ODU) where he excelled in track and field in the half mile and relay races setting two VA state records. He was also a member of the Baltimore Olympic Club where he won two gold metals in the Millrose Indoor Olympic Games at Madison Square Garden. He was inducted into ODU Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. He was still competing with the Tidewater Striders into his 60s. He was active in his community as head of the Central Bayside Athletic Association. Coaching basketball and football and Little Creek baseball. He retired from Tidewater Construction Company after 35 years in the engineering department. He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church where he worked in building and grounds. He was also deacon and sang in the choir. He was a sweet soul that would do anything for anybody and a true servant of the Lord.

A funeral service will be held on Friday August 15, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Road Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. To leave a condolence to the family please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
