She obtained the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) designation, which is the highest credential for residential sales agents.
During a period of 10 years, she partnered with her dear friend Ridgely D. Nash as owners of Bed and Breakfast of Tidewater, providing lodging in the Ghent area for patients of the Jones Institute, visiting professors, members of the preforming arts, and others needing short term accommodations.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Richard Herman Furr, Jr., and her mother and father, Helen Lang Huffington Simmons and Benjamin Walter Huffington.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Anne Campbell Furr and Elizabeth Furr Johnson and husband Jeffrey William Johnson, her adored grandchildren, Kimberly Elizabeth Johnson and fiancé, Troy Erik Tallaksen, Matthew William Johnson, and Thomas William Johnson, and her much-loved nieces and nephews.
Betty was deeply loved and respected by many, and she will be remembered for her kindness, joyful nature, generously of spirit, and enduring love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in those that she knew and loved.
