Glen Sipe Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 3, 2024.
Glen E. Sipe, 95, residing at Life Care Center of Longmont CO, died in the early morning hours of April 2, 2024.
Glen was a Christmas baby ~ born December 25, 1928 in Longmont, CO. He was the son of Claire E. Sipe and Opal M. (Hoff) Sipe.
Glen grew up in Longmont where he spent much of his time helping on his family's farm. He graduated from Longmont High School in June of 1947. He then went on to join the Army in 1950 where he served during the Korean war in Okinawa Japan for several years. When Glen was discharged from the military, he began his long career as a farmer. He then worked for Sears for several years until his retirement.
Glen married Gwendolyn O'Connell in 1954. They had two children, Heidi & Dean. They were divorced in 1968.
Glen married Donna Wooner on October 24, 1986. After their wedding, he moved to Erie with Donna where he lived in the same home for 35 years. He was a member of the Tri Town Baptist Church, Frederick, CO. He enjoyed traveling with Donna in their motor home to visit family who lived out of state. He and Donna also enjoyed camping with close friends - many from their church, who joined them on their adventures. Glen liked working in the garden and yard during his retirement. Many of Glen's family, friends, and acquaintances will fondly remember him as quite the jokester. It was something he enjoyed very much. His eldest child, Heidi, is extremely grateful that he hung on until after midnight, instead of passing away on April 1st.
Glen is survived by his two children: Heidi Sipe of Portland, OR, and Dean (Katy) Sipe of Laurel, MT; four step-children: Debbie (Larry) Crawford of Greer, SC; Milton (Chris) Wilcox of Franklin Grove, IL; Brian (Rebecca) Wilcox of Johnstown, CO; Vicki (Todd) O'Hagan-Ioerger of Dacono, CO; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; his brother, Bill Sipe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents (Claire E. Sipe and Opal M. (Hoff) Sipe), younger brother (Ralph), and spouse (Donna Sipe).
Visitation and a luncheon will be held at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman St., Longmont CO, on Wednesday, April 10, beginning at 12:30pm. Memorial services will be at 2pm - Pastor Todd Cockrell of Tri Town Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont, CO, at 3:30pm.
