Mike grew up in Longmont, Colorado, and graduated from Longmont High School in 1994. While growing up, Mike attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. After graduation, his love of working with his hands and doing construction took him to Florida for a number of years until he decided to move back to Colorado to be closer to family. His attention to detail and affinity for perfection was apparent in all of his projects, no matter big or small. He was a talented artist of many mediums and enjoyed being creative. Mike touched the lives of many with his unique sense of humor, creativity and curiosity. The compassion he shared for the elderly, disabled, and kids was one of a kind. Mike had a special love for music and the mountains.
Mike is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vince and Betty Strubbe, his paternal grandmother, Tillie Olson, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mike is survived by his parents, Ray and Billie Berner; sister, Nicole Haggerty; nephews, Riley and Tavan Haggerty; partner, Tanya Prohaska and her children, Wesley, Michael, and Hannah Summers; an aunt, Vicki Olson; an uncle, Mark Strubbe; and numerous cousins.
He will be deeply missed and was loved by so many people.

Ray and Billie, I am so sorry for your loss. When I was an insurance agent he would come in on occasion. I was surprised he remembered me and he was so friendly and kind. May your cherished memories bring you peace and comfort. You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Blessings
