Glen Ray Walls

Glennis Ray Walls, 77, of Newport, departed this life on January 21, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1948, in Myron, Arkansas to Charley and Emma "Chloe" (Tadlock) Walls. Glen was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose kindness touched all who knew him.

He retired from Harris Hospital, where he worked in the Engineering Department for over thirty years. Glen was known for his dedication to his work and for brightening the days of coworkers and patients alike with his warm smile and generous spirit. His passion for woodworking and carpentry was evident in the beautiful pieces he crafted and the joy he found in creating with his hands.

Glen proudly served his country as a sergeant in the Army. He was deployed to Germany where he served in the ammunition department. His service marked by dedication and bravery earning him recognition for his contributions to the military.

A faithful member of Jacksonport Baptist Church, Glen served as a deacon and was deeply committed to his church family. He found great fulfillment in his faith and in serving others, both within the church and the wider community.

Above all, Glen cherished his family. He lovingly cared for the love of his life, Ann Walls, who he was married to for 46 years, and affectionately called Red. He always put the happiness and well-being of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren first.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann Walls; his brothers, Charles Walls and Roy Walls; his sisters, Della Faye Everett, Daline Robinson, and Melba Jackson.

He is survived by his daughters, Renée Butler (John) of Wynne, Annette King of Fayetteville, and Faith Walls of Newport; his grandchildren, Ben Butler (Laura Beth) of Wynne, Kelsey Walls of Jonesboro, Kylan Walls of Newport, Hunter King of Fayetteville, Emily Claire King of Fayetteville; his great grandchildren, Aliyah Walls of Newport, Brayden Butler of Wynne, K.C. Walls of Newport, Lane Butler of Wynne; and a lifetime of family and friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ben Butler, John Butler, Kylan Walls, Jeffrey Allen, Rodney Bridgeman and Scott Bridgeman. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter King and the Jacksonport Baptist Church Mens Group.

Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Jacksonport Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Grantham officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Watson Cemetery.
