It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Glen Keller Ward of Akron, Ohio who left us peacefully on March 24th, 2024 at the age of 79.
Glen was born in 1944 the son of the late Faythe Timms and Amos Ward. He was a devoted grandfather, brother and son but mostly a devoted father to his daughters. His “girls” were the pride and joy of his life. It would have been a rare occasion for him to not tell a friend or stranger about his daughters and their families. He is survived by his daughters Kelley (Todd) Abell and Wendy (Jefferson) Meadors; his sister Faye (Ed) Bosley; his step-brother Marvin Timms; his grandchildren Colin (Sarah) Abell, Colton Abell, Makenna Abell, Caleb Abell, Blake Johnsen, Addyson Johnsen, Cambrie Meadors, Cole Meadors; and a large extended family. He is not only preceded in death by his parents but also his brothers Eddie and Ronnie Ward and his grandson Peyton Johnsen.
Glen was a longtime resident of Kent, Ohio where he and his ex-wife Karen raised their family and owned a business (Award Heating and Air Conditioning). He is remembered by his Kent friends as not only being kind and compassionate but quite fun to be around due to his great personality and witty sense of humor. Glen was a longtime Cleveland Browns fan. We will forever honor the rule of “no plans on Sunday at 1:00 during football season”
A Celebration of Life will be held for him on April 10th from 4-6 (service to follow) at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls.
