Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stewart Family Funeral Home - Tyler on Dec. 3, 2025.
Services for Glenn Chennault, age 81, of Tyler, Texas will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Brumley officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery in Whitehouse, Texas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Glenn Chennault passed away Tuesday, December 2, at home surrounded by family. He was born January 28, 1944, in Shaw, Mississippi to George Robert Chennault and Arrie Wren Chennault, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 58 years, Jean Chennault; his son, Glenn Robert Chennault, Jr. and wife Polly of Tyler, Texas; his daughter, Beverly Reed and husband Jason of McKinney, Texas; his daughter, Laura Johnson and husband Allen of Lakeland, Florida; his sister, Carolyn Batson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and his brother, Bruce Chennault of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Glenn is also survived by his 11 grandchildren Madison, Olivia, and Griffin Chennault; James and Audrey Bobo; Micah and Madalin Reed; and Danielle, Preston, Colter, and Lane Johnson; and his 6 great-grandchildren, Amelia Hill; Adaleigh, Noah, Harper, Rowan, and Cooper Johnson.

Glenn began his career in the metal building industry at Hall Building in Belzoni, MS. Thereafter, he held the positions of salesman and sales manager with Tyler Building Systems for over forty years. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and attended the Celebrations Connect Group. Glenn, together with his wife, was a volunteer with CARE (Christ-centered Abortion Recovery and Education) Ministries Inc. Glenn enjoyed time outdoors and fishing was a favorite pastime. He loved tending his gardens and watching sporting events. Following his retirement, Glenn returned to his childhood love of carpentry as evidenced by the beautiful crosses and kneeling prayer benches that he made for others. Whether it be his office, his wallet, or his phone, Glenn surrounded himself with images of the people he loved the most, his family.

Pallbearers will be Preston Johnson, James Bobo, Jason Reed, Griffin Chennault, Lane Johnson, Ryan Hill, and Noah Johnson. Honorary pallbearers, in memoriam, will be Reggie Mack Jones and Arlon "Sonny" Jones, Glenn's closest friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
