He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann Fletcher; parents, Col. C.C. Fletcher and Ruth Fletcher; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Mary Ruth Fletcher, Phillip and Sue Fletcher, and James Fletcher.
He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church. Glenn was an educator in Whitfield County for 33 years. His greatest enjoyment was playing bluegrass music with his brothers, Phillip, James, and Frank.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Jennifer Fletcher; sister-in-law, Cade Fletcher; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The funeral service will be held at Croft Ferry Baptist Church in Ballplay, AL on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 3:00 PM (Central Standard Time) with Rev. Noel Caldwell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
Burial will be held in Union #3 Cemetery.

I only had the pleasure of meeting and playing music with Glenn twice, and then only in his last years, but was impressed with his kindly manner, sense of humor, and the fact that he still had a great singing voice. His fiddle skills were also impressive for someone in their 80's. I was prompted to read about his background of "Keeping Steamboat Memories Alive." I also learned that a friend of mine had played music with him about 20 years ago and had enjoyed those experiences. My condolences go to his son and extended family.
