Publish in a newspaper

Glenn Brent Friend passed away peacefully at his home in Morgantown, WV, on October 16, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 15, 1941, in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Glenn Irving Friend and Harriet Louise Tichenor Friend.
Glenn's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his country. He proudly served in the US Army, a testament to his patriotic spirit. Following his military service, Glenn worked as a skilled carpenter for West Virginia University, where he was known for his meticulous craftsmanship and strong work ethic.
He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Margaret Ann "Maggie" Friend, and was a guiding light to his children, Tara Pyles (Glenn), Melissa Snider (Denver), Glenn B. Friend, II (Sherry Judy), and Andrew W. Friend (Julie). Glenn was a source of wisdom and laughter to his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. His legacy of humor and kindness will live on through them.
Glenn was a man of many interests and talents. He had a passion for old cars and could often be found at car shows, admiring the craftsmanship and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, embracing the beauty of nature. His love for exploration extended to yard sales and flea markets, where he found joy in discovering treasures and sharing jokes with those around him.
Known for his quick wit and jovial nature, Glenn was the family jokester. He had an uncanny ability to lighten any room with his humor and a kind word. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brought comfort and joy to those who knew him.
Glenn is survived by his loving family, including his sister Linda Louise Adair and Tami Slusher, and his brother Joe Ray Friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Cathy Cox and Ginger Friend, his brother Randy Michael Friend, and one granddaughter, Andrea Hovatter.
Friends and family may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 3-7pm and again on Wednesday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the Westover VFW Post #9916 and the WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
