Aileen Riley, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at Sundale Nursing Home in her hometown of Morgantown, WV. Born on March 3, 1937, to the late Carl Wade and Nellie Welch, Aileen's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith.
Aileen's journey began in the rolling hills of Morgantown, where she grew up with her beloved sister, the late Miriam Steele. Her heart found its match when she married Herbert Dallas Riley, Sr., who predeceased her, and together they built a life filled with joy and laughter. Aileen's legacy is carried on by her devoted children, Debbie Bryan (Mike), Judy Mason (Rodney), Herb Riley, Jr. (Christine), and David Riley (Sissy), as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her grandson, Paul John Schumacher, whose memory she held close to her heart.
Aileen's professional life was spent at the WVU Bookstore, where she was a familiar and friendly face to all who passed through its doors. Her work was more than a job; it was an extension of her community involvement and her commitment to the Mountaineer spirit.
Her faith was her compass, guiding her through life's challenges and joys. Aileen was a dedicated member of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle, where she found solace and strength in her beliefs. Her love for the church was rivaled only by her love for her family, whom she nurtured with an unwavering dedication.
Aileen's zest for life was evident in her passions. She found great pleasure in shopping, always on the lookout for the perfect gift to brighten someone's day. Traveling was another joy, particularly her trips to Pigeon Forge, TN, where she created countless memories with her family.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 3-7 pm and again on Saturday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Rev. Joe Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com

Aileen was always a beautiful, kind and sweet lady. I always enjoyed the time we spent talking about the kids, her travels and many interesting adventures.  She will be missed by her family and friends. I find solace knowing she is with her beloved husband, Dallas, and her love for God was always strong.
