Glenn Niles Gardner, aka Glenny (to his sisters) and Grandpa to most everyone else, was born in Parkinton, MO, on the 8th of February, 1934, to Riley Gardner & Thelma Broyles. Glenn was drafted into the Army in March 1953. In a break from the Army, he meets the love of his life, Mary Ann Watts, and they married on January 23rd, 1956. Together they raised 5 boys: Kevin Gardner, Randal Gardner, Bryon Gardner, Clifford Gardner, and Daniel Gardner. His sons gave him 10 granddaughters and 3 grandsons, as well as 4 great-granddaughters and 8 great-grandsons. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Riley Gardner and Thelma Gardner; his brother, Edward Gardner; sisters Iona Tunnell, Thelma Ellis, and Mavis Edmonds; wife, Mary Ann Gardner; and eldest son, Kevin Gardner. Glenn leaves behind one brother, Leslie Gardner; and sisters Vivian Ruh and Faye Tew, as well as 4 sons, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved God and his wife passionately, as well as his dog, Buddy, whom he requested to have his urn placed with him. He loved to fish any time he was able, garden, put together puzzles, and decorate for each holiday, but Christmas was his favorite. His favorites also included Irish music, Westerns, Little House on the Prairie, Pepsi, chocolate of any kind (especially pecan clusters), Del Rancho Chicken Fried Steak sandwiches, and sweets of any kind. He loved to eat! Will be remembered for his many stories of his past and his amazing laugh. He died peacefully in his home at 7:24 PM on July 4th, 2025. He will be missed by many because he loved so many. The viewing for the family will be Thursday, July 10th, from 10 AM to Noon; public viewing from Noon to 8 PM at the Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home located at 305 S. Sooner Rd., Del City, OK 73110. Services will be on Friday, July 11th, at 4 PM at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, located at 1100 Harper Rd., Choctaw, OK 73020, with public viewing before the start of the service. Short graveside services following at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum, located at 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Spencer, OK 73141, for interment. Uncle Glenn you will be lovingly remembered and missed. God´s love and blessings to the family. We Gardner girls thought it was funny how you ended up with 5 boys and dad with 5 girls. Our vacations to Missouri and Nebraska will always be remembered, your laugh, your soft spoken manner with us girls. You and dad going down the slide together at his birthday party! Fond memories and lots of !
