Glenn S. Gebert, 60, of Carbondale, died Monday, Sept. 2 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his lifelong friend and partner, Michelle Corrigan.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Donald and JoAnne Barhight Gebert, he was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School. He had been employed as a butcher for the former Zazzera's Market, Carbondale, and also at Price Chopper and Kaplan Slaughterhouse. He also worked with his brother Don, processing deer for dozens of hunters every hunting season.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Geisinger CMC for their compassionate care of Glenn.
Also surviving are a daughter, Crystal Gebert, Chicago; two grandchildren, Kaelie and Matthew Worden, Scranton; three siblings, Lynda Nehme and husband, Phillip, Smithfield, Va.; Donna Bronson, South Abington Twp.; Donald J. Gebert Jr. and wife, Sharon, Carbondale; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends, including Lonnie Hunter.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Gebert; a sister, Debra Gebert Anderson; and a nephew, Raymond Bronson.
The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 28 in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with services at noon. Private interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time.
