Glenn Alan Padon
February 14, 1961 - January 26, 2026
Glenn A. Padon, 64, of
Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away January 26, 2026. Glenn was born on February 14, 1961, in Norfolk County, VA, to the late James Roy and Millie Miller Padon. He was a proud graduate of the Class of 1979, Great Bridge Wildcats, and Chesapeake Vocational Technical School, where he thrived as an HVAC tradesman. His determination, drive, and competitive technical skills made him one of the most sought-after technicians for several top HVAC companies in the area before going into business for himself, owning and operating his own commercial HVAC and refrigeration company in 1996, Ideal Climates, Inc., where he took great pride in offering exceptional care, unwavering work ethic, and true honesty to his customers. Glenn never bothered promoting his company; he always believed that if he provided great work at a fair price, satisfied customers would do the promoting for him. His strategy was a success because he was always busy. He was a true craftsman of his trade, which allowed him to do what he prided himself on most, providing a wonderful life for his family.
When Glenn wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, watching NASCAR, riding his 4-wheeler, tractor, lawn mower, or anything with a motor. He took pride in teaching his children valuable life lessons like how to scrap an air conditioning unit, drywall a house, and especially how to drive, anything from boats, jet skis, go carts, and cars. He loved to sing karaoke. Despite his visible debilitating battle from a very young age of acute chronic Ankylosing Spondylitis, he never missed an opportunity to get up and dance when he heard his favorite song, "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang, which was the perfect representation of his life. He loved to celebrate any occasion and was truly the life of the party.
Throughout his brief 64 years, Glenn wore many hats, but his favorite title was Papaw. His five Grandchildren were the light in his life. His eyes would brighten, and his smile would widen whenever he spoke of them. He was incredibly proud to watch his children as parents, and his legacy will forever live on through each of them.
Left to cherish his memory, Belinda Padon, his devoted wife of 39 years and mother to their three children, Brandi Riggs (Chad), Lauren Martin (Jimmy), and Blake Padon (Eryn). His five grandchildren, Carter, Collin, Gracie, Gavin, and Leighton. His three sisters, Belinda Cooper, Juanita Styron, and Gail Padon. Countless friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 5 - 7 pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 2pm also at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating.
