Glenn Leo Rackers, age 84, of
Wardsville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at St.Mary's Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1941, in
Taos, Missouri, the son of Clarence and Alma (Raithel) Rackers.
He attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and graduated from Fatima High School.
He was united in marriage on October 24, 1964, at St. Peters Catholic Church
Jefferson City, Missouri to the love of his life Betty Jo Rackers.
Glenn was a faith-filled Catholic man whose life was rooted in devotion to God, family, and community. He was a dedicated family man, a hardworking provider, and a steadfast example of service to others.
Glenn was the founder and co-owner of Rackers & Lehmen Spreading Service for 15 years and proudly served for 25 years in the Missouri Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty and discipline.
A lifelong hobby farmer, Glenn found great joy in tractor pulling, bowling, hunting, country music and playing cards, hobbies that led to many lasting friendships. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to play cards and sharing his love of tractor pulling with them. His strong work ethic and deep love of the land were evident in all he did.
Glenn's Catholic faith guided every aspect of his life. He served as a Communion Minister at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and St. Mary's Hospital He was also active in Cursillo. He was devoted to Perpetual Adoration from its inception and was a proud 4th Degree member of the Wardsville/Osage Bend Knights of Columbus. His quiet faith, steady presence, and willingness to serve left a lasting impact on his family, parish and community.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Rackers); his children: Greg (Maureen) Rackers, Jeff (Sue) Rackers, Bruce (Amy) Rackers, Amy (Ben) Steinman, Monica (Jason) Ralston, Aaron (Ashley) Rackers; Daughter-in-Law Patty (Michael – deceased) Rackers; and his grandchildren: Nolan Rackers and Ethan Rackers; Gabriel Rackers, Grant Rackers and Grace Rackers, Evan (Nikita) Rackers and Peyton Rackers; Faith Rackers and Quin Rackers; Matthew (Alicia) Kliethermes, Tara (Chad) Wolken and Jared Steinman; Jayden Ralston and Jordan Ralston; Chase Rackers, and Ellisyn Rackers. He was blessed with great-grandchildren: Hudson Kliethermes, Drake and Kinzley Wolken, Everley Tellman and Hazel Rackers, and two on the way.
He is also survived by his sisters: Delphine Prenger, Janet Kauffman and Carol Ann Ricks. Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law Ruth Coppenbarger, Jerome Reinsch, Orville Stegeman, Linda Rackers, Albert and Hedy Rackers, Ted and Vickie Rackers, Mary Diemler, Kenny Lehmen, and Dave and Jane Schnieders, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved son Michael Rackers, Son-in-Law Joseph Kliethermes, his parents, Clarence and Alma (Raithel) Rackers; his In-laws, Jerome and Pauline (Utrecht) Rackers; his brothers: Norbert Rackers, Harold Rackers, and Leon Rackers; his sisters: Grace Blank, Rose Reinsch, and Linda Stegeman; Brothers-in-Law: Kent Coppenbarger, Leon Prenger, Roy Blank, Ray Kauffman, Dale Ricks, Glen Rackers, and Tony Diemler; and Sisters-in-Law: Jean Rackers and Wanda Lehman.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with Monsignor Cox as celebrant. Christian burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diocese of Jefferson City, "Vocations to the Priesthood" and St. Stanislaus Church.
Glenn's life was a legacy of faith, family, farm, service and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
