Harvey Carl Rackers

Harvey Carl Rackers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 9, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born on August 22, 1935, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to the late Otto and Henrietta (Knorr) Rackers.
Harvey was a 1953 graduate of St. Peter High School in Jefferson City. On July 31, 1954, he married the love of his life, Mary Dee Mahlan, and together they shared over 70 years of love and companionship.
Harvey worked at Orscheln Brothers Truck Line before becoming a full-time mechanic, where he specialized in rebuilding International Harvester tractors in his shop. Born and raised on a farm, he was a life-long farmer that enjoyed planting crops, threshing, as well as bailing hay. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting, and later in life, he found joy in just watching the wildlife. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He treasured spending time with his family and friends (that just dropped in), often sharing a cold beverage in good company.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Dee; daughters, Carla Boessen, Lynn Williams, Deb Schaumann (Sam), Christy Adrian, and Kelley Berendzen (Bruce); 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by two daughters, Diane and Mary; two brothers and their wives, Vernon (Alice), Stanley (Betty); three sisters, Marion, Doris Smith (Charles), Ruby Rank; one granddaughter; two son-in-laws, James Boessen "Bimbo" and Greg Adrian.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 15, from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church in Wardsville, Missouri. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Msgr. David Cox. Burial is at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Stanislaus Cemetery or the Dementia Society of America.
