Glenn Wagner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Torbert Funeral Chapels on Sep. 28, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Mr. Glenn Stewart Wagner, 77, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2025, in Felton, Delaware. Born on November 22, 1948, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Glenn lived a life marked by dedication to his country, devotion to his family, and pride in his home.

Glenn was the beloved husband of Mary Jane Wagner (née Tinley), with whom he shared many cherished years. He was a proud stepfather to Crystal (Jody) of Wyoming, DE, and Joelle (Bill) of Felton, DE. Known affectionately as "Poppop," Glenn held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren-Billy (Crystal), Amy (Chad), Cameron (Megan), Skyler (Terrence), Sydney (Elijah), and Shelby (Ryan)-and great-grandchildren-Cole (Darla), Blake, Cannon, Caleb, Zoë, Quinn, and Sophia.

He is also remembered with love by his siblings: brothers Dennis of Mountville, PA; Dave of Mechanicsburg, PA; and sister Priscilla Allandar (Ed) of Liverpool, PA. His sister-in-law Delores Tinley-Smoot of Camden, DE also mourns his passing. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Hoffman and Jeanne Wagner (née Moore) of Summerdale, PA and by his brother Paul of Summerdale.

From 1968 to 1974, Glenn honorably served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Technician and Airplane Maintenance Technician. His service included nearly a year stationed in Vietnam where he worked diligently to maintain aircraft under challenging conditions. His commitment to duty reflected the strength of character that defined him throughout his life.

After completing his military service with distinction-totaling four years and two months-Glenn returned home where he continued to build a life grounded in hard work and care for those around him. Glenn followed up his active military service with more than 23 years in Active Reserve as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, then years as an Engineer with the Delaware Department of Transportation in Bridge Design. He took great pride in maintaining an immaculate yard at his home-a reflection not only of his attention to detail but also of the joy he found in creating beauty and order in the world around him.

To those who knew him-as a husband, stepfather, father-in-law, brother, son, "Poppop" or all-around friend-Glenn will be remembered for the quiet strength he brought into every role he held.

Funeral Services for Glenn will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Torbert's Funeral Chapel 1445 E. Lebanon Rd., where friends and family may call prior from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM. Interment will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill, PA.

May Glenn's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Vietnam Veterans Chapter #850, P.O. Box 1718, Dover, DE, 19903.
