Glenna Coe Obituary

Glenna Kay (Jividen) Coe, 84, transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 11, 2024, after a losing battle with Alzheimer's disease. Signs were recognized as early as 2012.
She was born in Dunbar, West Virginia and was a 1958 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School of Charleston, West Virginia. As a teenager, her family moved to Hollywood, Florida. Out of six (6) children, Glenna was the 2nd oldest child, and the oldest daughter born to Raymond and Zelma Skidmore Jividen.
In South Florida, she met and married Edward Coe. They resided in Pembroke Pines, Florida and had a son and daughter together. They both worked at Winn Dixie early on and after a few years they decided to work instead for Publix Supermarkets. In the late seventies, they moved North to settle down near Lloyd, Florida. After their divorce in 1988, Glenna found Jesus Christ and was baptized, at Lloyd Baptist Church. She continued to work and ultimately retired from Publix.
Glenna had been a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and daughter, caring for her live-in mother, many years after her father passed. She was very close to her remaining siblings, especially after the passing of her two younger brothers early in their adult lives.
She was always kind to everyone and had immense character and integrity. Enjoying the great outdoors, she loved camping, working in her gardens and keeping her home and yard in nice condition. Just like her mother, Glenna enjoyed decorative crafts and the like. Likewise, she was always a talented seamstress and handmade each of her children and grandchildren their own custom quilts, that are cherished possessions to remember her by. Her family was a huge fan of her wonderful cooking, requesting many of her best dishes.
Glenna is survived by her daughter, Tonia Coe Kelly (Bobby), grandsons Nolan and Landon Kelly, son Edward Coe III, older brother Gary Jividen (Dianne), nieces Laura Jividen, Heather Kelle (Bill), Mary Leary (Will), Lynette Jividen, Melinda Jividen-Gambino, nephews Ryan Gill (Nicole), Jason Gill (Marjorie), Frank Coe, Charles Corwin, Jimmy Jividen, cousin Pam Sullins and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Nancy (Jividen) Gill, Marilyn (Jividen) Corwin, Raymond Luther Jividen and Jimmy Jividen, nephew Gary Jividen Jr., and niece Jacquelyn Corwin Grate.
A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff that do the Lord's work at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, Georgia.
